Take a step back in time as you enter The Glen down a canopied country lane. Charming and serene, the three separate venues upon the property offer elegant, vintage and simple backdrops to any event. The Linwood, Mathis, and Steele houses each have their own vintage personalities to suit your style. The Linwood was built by Mr. George Taber for his bride in 1882 when he came to Florida and started the Glen Saint Mary Nursery. The home is still lived in by the Taber family who graciously allow its use for romantic weddings and events. In November 2003, the homes on the Glen St. Mary Nursery were added to the National Historic Register and listed as a Historic District.
Linwood, circa 1882, a Victorian Home, is the dream venue for your wedding ceremony and reception. At the Linwood house you will find a memorable setting to say your vows. Arriving in a horse drawn carriage through Magnolia Lane, your ceremony can be held on the steps of the beautiful home or a lovely setting in one of the peaceful gardens. Weddings on a grand scale can be accommodated.
The Mathis House
The Mathis House circa 1915 is the perfect setting for any event. Nestled among beautiful old trees and orange groves, the Mathis House provides the ideal locations for photographs. The large wooden deck off of the back of the screened in porch, is the perfect location for dining and dancing. A gazebo complements the the back of the house as does the arbor nestled in the trees offering a charming venue not usually found.
The Steele House

It also makes for wonderful retreats for company meetings and family reunions. The house sleeps twelve (+) and has a fully equiped kitchen. Catering for the weekend can also be arranged.
